Overview


The California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Cannabis Enforcement Program raided six illegal cannabis grow sites in July and August 2025. The operations targeted sites harming sensitive habitats.


Raid Details


  • Locations: Los Angeles, San Bernardino, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Tehama counties.

  • Sites on public lands, including Forest Service and municipal properties.

  • Led by CDFW’s Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET).


Key Actions


  • Arrested eight suspects for crimes like pollution and illegal cultivation.

  • Seized toxic pesticides, including banned carbofuran and methamidophos.

  • Eradicated 21,000 cannabis plants, saving 9.5 million gallons of water.

  • Restored water flow at five sites.

  • Removed 2,300 pounds of trash.

  • Destroyed 150 pounds of processed cannabis.

  • Confiscated two illegal firearms.
