The syncopated strains of reggae drifted from a Northwest Washington storefront as police cruisers pulled up and seven officers — two carrying riot shields, another a battering ram — filed through the front door, past a banner reading “DC’s #1 Cannabis Dispensary.”
“Here we go, it’s happening,” a police official said as pedestrians stopped to watch the recent noontime raid at Orbit DC in Adams Morgan.
