Cannabix Technologies announced that its handheld Marijuana Breath Test system's Breath Collection Unit has passed electronic emissions testing, a key regulatory hurdle for sales in the United States and Canada. The approval complies with FCC Part 15 rules in the U.S. and ICES-003 standards in Canada, confirming the unit meets federal limits on radio-frequency emissions. An ISO/IEC 17025 accredited test report verifies this compliance, representing a major milestone toward commercialization. The Breath Collection Unit, used with proprietary single-use Breath Cartridges, collects stable breath samples for laboratory confirmation of recent marijuana use via liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. Engineering refinements focused on meeting regulatory expectations for market entry. Testing occurred at QAI Laboratories in British Columbia, an accredited facility recognized by regulators in both countries. Cannabix is developing the platform in partnership with Omega Laboratories, a drug-testing provider with federal and international certifications, to bring the breath-based THC detection system to customers in the U.S. and Canada. The system targets workplaces, law enforcement, and settings requiring identification of recent THC use. Cannabix also develops alcohol breath-testing technologies. This achievement paves the way for broader adoption of reliable, non-invasive testing methods in various professional and safety-critical environments, enhancing accuracy in detecting recent cannabis consumption without invasive procedures.
