A pilot trial tested rectal CBD suppositories (CANNEFF®, 100 mg CBD + 6.6 mg hyaluronic acid) for chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) or chronic nonbacterial prostatitis in 16 men (ages 24-49) with moderate-severe symptoms. Participants self-administered nightly for 30 days; outcomes used NIH-CPSI (total score >10, pain ≥4), IPSS for urinary symptoms, and IIEF-5 for erectile function. Median NIH-CPSI dropped from 24.5 to 20.0 (P=0.003), with 7-point median reduction and 81.3% reporting overall improvement. IPSS improved from 14.0 to 12.0 (P=0.033), especially voiding symptoms. Erectile function showed non-significant gains. No adverse events occurred. Despite the small sample and lack of placebo, results indicate potential for CBD/HA suppositories in symptom relief, particularly pain and urinary issues in CP/CPPS. Larger, controlled studies are warranted to confirm efficacy and safety of this rectal delivery approach.
