Fort Worth just stepped into the future of cannabis culture. Emerald City Dispensary + Lounge has officially opened in Panther Island’s urban district, making it the city’s very first cannabis lounge. Located at 937 Woodward Street, directly across from a police station, the new space is equal parts bold, playful, and groundbreaking.

A Pioneer at the Helm

The lounge is the brainchild of Candice Stinnett, a Fort Worth native who has been working in the cannabis space since 2019.

Her first shop, Emerald Organics, introduced CBD and hemp products to locals in the wake of the 2018 Farm Bill. With Emerald City, she’s bringing something entirely new to Texas, a social consumption lounge where adults 21 and older can legally enjoy THC and CBD products in a safe, community-driven setting.

“I wanted to create a space where people can come together, connect, and normalize cannabis,” Stinnett says. “It’s about evolving the industry beyond the shadows and into a professional, regulated environment.”

Inside the Wonderland

Stinnett designed Emerald City after touring cannabis lounges on the West Coast. The result is part Victorian parlor, part Alice in Wonderland dreamscape, and part modern social club. Guests are greeted with velvet couches, oversized windows, neon lyrics from Mac Miller and Lil Wayne, and walls covered in vibrant greenery.

The menu includes smokeable flower, pre-rolls, CBD and THC-infused beverages, and even a DIY option where customers can grind, roll, and light their own cannabis. If you don’t finish what you order, Emerald City operates as a dispensary too, sending you home with properly labeled, sealed packages and a note about its legality.

Professional and Secure

Emerald City isn’t just about fun, it’s about responsibility. Guests must present ID, sign a waiver, and pass through security before entering. Inside, “budtenders” and “flight attendants” act as guides, helping guests choose the right products. The lounge also offers a patio, gaming console, and a full bar stocked with snacks to satisfy the munchies.

Notably, there’s no alcohol on the menu. Stinnett says mixing THC with alcohol can overwhelm the experience, so she’s chosen to keep the focus on cannabis.

Instead, infused cocktails will soon be added to the lineup, crafted by Brian Conway of San Antonio’s Powered by Plants.

Building Community

Emerald City aims to be more than a lounge. Weekly ladies’ nights, comedy shows, and live music events are already on the calendar, cementing its role as a community hub.

“Cannabis heightens your senses,” Stinnett says. “That encourages conversation, laughter, and new connections. Creating those experiences is what Emerald City Lounge is all about.”

A First for Fort Worth

With Emerald City, Fort Worth joins a growing national movement of cannabis consumption lounges. While the city’s roots may be in cattle drives and cowboy culture, this new addition highlights how quickly cannabis is moving into mainstream social life in Texas.

Emerald City Dispensary + Lounge isn’t just a place to smoke, it’s a place to connect, celebrate, and help normalize cannabis for the next generation.
