Cannabis Legalization Gains Support
Public Opinion Shifts
A recent NBC News Decision Desk poll shows only 27% of U.S.
voters view cannabis legalization as harmful. Conducted from August 13 to September 1, the survey included over 30,000 adults.
Meanwhile, 33% see legalization as positive, and 45% consider it neutral.
Growing Acceptance
More than half of U.S.
states have legalized recreational cannabis. National lawmakers are exploring reforms, including rescheduling cannabis and improving banking access for cannabis businesses. Public support continues to rise, especially among younger voters.
Poll Details
The poll asked: “Thinking about recreational cannabis being legal in much of the country, is this generally:”
33% said “A good thing for society.”
23% said “A bad thing for society.”
45% said “Neither good nor bad.”
