AG James secures $9.5 million judgment against the owner of an unlicensed cannabis store in Ontario County

New York Attorney General Letitia James secured a $9.5 million judgment against George West, the owner of the unlicensed cannabis dispensary Jaydega 7.0 in Ontario County.

Despite warnings from the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) in June 2023, West continued selling cannabis without a license.


The penalties include $1 million in illicit earnings and $8.4 million in fines for violating state law.


The OAG and OCM also obtained a court order to close the dispensary in November 2023 due to unlicensed operations and illegal sales.
