A new Abacus Data poll (2,000 adults, June 25–July 3) commissioned by Organigram shows 59% of Canadians see the legal cannabis sector as an important economic contributor (up from 57% in April), including majorities across Liberal (69%) and Conservative (58%) voters. 59% prefer updating rules to grow the industry vs. maintaining restrictions. Support exists for expanding regulatory input (47%), combating illicit sales (43%), and lowering taxes (33%). Past-two-week cannabis use (32%) now matches nicotine (33%). CEO Beena Goldenberg called for treating cannabis as a key industry with innovation in beverages, edibles, and wellness.
