The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics has released statistics highlighting extensive marijuana trafficking issues in the state. Reports indicate a significant portion of licensed grows are linked to illegal operations, with thousands of farms involved in black market diversion. Authorities have conducted numerous raids, seizing large quantities of unlicensed product destined for out-of-state markets.

Officials describe "shocking" levels of organized crime involvement, including international cartels exploiting Oklahoma's lenient medical marijuana licensing since 2018. Despite regulatory efforts, enforcement challenges persist due to the sheer volume of operations. Data shows billions in illicit sales bypassing taxes and controls, undermining the legal industry.

The bureau emphasizes public safety risks from unregulated products, including contamination and potency issues. Lawmakers and regulators continue debates on stricter oversight, moratoriums, and licensing reforms to curb trafficking while preserving patient access.
