A national survey by JL Partners, conducted among 1,000 registered voters on December 20-21, 2025, revealed that 53% of Americans support legalizing marijuana nationwide. Support reached 62% among Democrats and 51% among Republicans, indicating a shift in opinion across party lines. By gender, 58% of men favored legalization compared to 50% of women. Age demographics showed the highest support at 61% for those aged 30-49, with legalization outpacing opposition in all age groups surveyed. This polling follows President Donald Trump's recent executive order instructing the Department of Justice to expedite rescheduling cannabis under the Controlled Substances Act. The findings highlight broad demographic backing for legalization.
