A study using NSDUH data (2015-2023) shows cannabis-only past-month use rose from 3.9% to 10.6%, surpassing cigarette-only use (down from 15% to 8.8%). Co-use stable. Attributed to legalization/normalization for cannabis, tobacco controls for cigarettes. Cannabis use higher among advantaged groups; warns of potential public health risks needing prevention and policy responses.
