Famed boxer Mike Tyson is scheduled to appear at the Pennsylvania Capitol in Harrisburg on Wednesday morning to advocate for the legalization of recreational cannabis. Tyson, a known supporter of marijuana, has previously expressed his views on the issue, notably opposing the stance of Senator Scott Martin. In a July post on X, Tyson argued that legalizing marijuana would not only create revenue opportunities for Pennsylvania but also help prevent drug-related crime by closing gaps that allow cartels and illicit players to operate without safety or age protections.
Tyson has also spoken about the personal benefits of marijuana, citing his 40-acre Tyson Ranch, which reportedly goes through $40,000 worth of weed every month. In a 2019 interview with CBS News, Tyson mentioned that cannabis helps manage the aches and pains from his boxing career, stating, "I've been fighting for over 20 years and I have so many aches and pains." He further noted, "If I didn't have cannabis I don't know what would happen."
